Lesson Plan
Green School Reaccreditation
7th and 8th Grade Algebra
(Fall)
Objective: The student will find a real-world environmental situation whose graph is represented in intersecting lines. The student will use this model and graph to find potential solutions and/or predict future effect of the situation.
Essential Questions: Are these two entities related in a linear relationship? Does this relationship result in intersecting lines?
Material: Internet/laptop. Outdoor observation on campus
Subjects/Skills: Mathematics. /Define variables from a real-world situation. Graph a linear situation and be able to interpret graph.
Activity: Research a real-world situation from presence in and observation of natural phenomena. Find constant rate related to situation. Interpret model/graph for effect/future
Assessment/Celebration: Create a poster to display the real-world situation.
